X-Men: Apocalypse news: Tom Hardy eyed to play The Apocalypse in the newest X-Men movie
X-Men: Apocalypse updates: After terrorizing Batman as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, Tom hardy is being eyed to play the titular villain in X-Men: Apocalypse.
Hardy is set to star in the latest reboot of the Mad Max franchise, which will be out next summer, and is also being considered to be a part of the upcoming Suicide Squad by Warner Bros.
Hardy's other film credits include Warrior, Inception, Locke, and The Drop.
Cinema Blend describes Apocalypse:
"Apocalypse is an incredibly powerful mutant, named En Sabah Nur, whose origin dates back to ancient Egypt. In some circles he's viewed as the world's first mutant, and his reign of terror stretches for centuries. He was first hinted at in the closing credits of last summer's X-Men: Days of Future Past."
X-Men: Days of Future Past will be directed by Brian Singer and scripted by Simon Kinberg, Dan Harris, and Michael Dougherty. X-Men: Apocalypse release date has been set to May 27, 2016. This coincides with the reported release of Disney's Alice in Wonderland 2.
Singer has skipped X-Men directorial duties for quite some time and is happy to be on a roll.
According to Singer, the movie will be loosely based on the "Age of Apocalypse" storyline, which focuses mainly on the X-Men icons: Professor X (James McAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), and Beast (Nicholas Hoult).
Channing Tatum is reportedly joining the team as Gambit, but the rumor has yet to be confirmed.
