On October 16, at Apple's Town hall Auditorium California, the company announced its latest iPad Air 2. iPad Air series has achieved successful sale volume with its previous installments and the company is expecting to see the same positive, if not better sales volume for the iPad Air 2. However, the tablet is also going to face some tough competition from Samsung, which has already announced its new tablets this year. iPad Air 2 in particular, can be matched with the Galaxy Samsung Tab S 10.5 because of the nearness in their sizes. Let's take a quick review of latest Apple iPad Air 2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5.
Apple iPad Air 2 is a 9.7-inches tablet with 1536 x 2048 pixels resolution. The pixel density is decent for the large screen with 264 pixels per inch. The display type is LED backlit IPS LCD and the glass is protected by oleophobic coating. This feature is similar to what can be found in iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has a stunning 10.5-inch display size at 288 pixels per inch. The display resolution has 2560 x 1600 pixels.
The display type is Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen as mentioned in CNET. Both the devices offer sharp image quality but with the greater pixel density along with the resolution, Galaxy Tab S 10.5 leads the display segment.
Apple is stuck at 8MP camera sensor like the earlier iPhone 6 camera while the secondary camera is packed wit 1.2MP sensor. The rear camera is capable of recording 1080p and 720p videos respectively at 30fps and 120fps. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 also has 8MP rear facing camera and 2.1MP front facing camera as stated in GSM Arena.
iPad Air 2 has the latest Apple A8x chipset that is combined with Dual-Core processor while the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has Exynos 5 chipset with Quad- Core 1.9GHz and Quad Core 1.3 GHz processor. The GPU segment is provided with Mali-T628 MP6 chip according to Stuff TV.
iPad Air 2 comes with different models according to storage capacity. It has 16GB, 64GB, 128GB models available while of them lacks the expandable storage facility. Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has 16GB/32GB internal storage model available with 128GB external storage provision.
iPad Air 2 is operated with the latest iOS 8.1 while Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has Android version 4.4.2 KitKat as operating system.
