"American Horror Story": "Freak Show" Rises as Most Watched Telecast in FX, Murphy Treats Fans this Halloween
Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's anthology television series, "American Horror Story," quakes FX Network with its marvelous success.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the premiere of series' fourth season, "Freak Show," emerged as the most-watched telecast in FX history and topped the television series "Sons of Anarchy." The horrow series grabbed a total of 10 million viewrs, 6.54 million in adults 18 to 49, and 4.08 million among adults 18 to 34.
FX Network CEO John Landgraf also spoke his thoughts in a statement in The Hollywood Reporter. "The American Horror Story" anthology has had the highest growth trajectory of any show in FX history, not to mention an unprecedented track record of success in awards recognition," Langraf said. "With Ryan Murphy and his partners, Brad Falchuk, Dante Di Loreto, and Tim Minear at the helm, the show's success is not surprising. "AHS" continues to deliver amazing stories, a brilliant troupe of actors led by Jessica Lange, and a visual style unlike any other on TV. With "Nip/Tuck," "Glee," "The Normal Heart" and "American Horror Story," Ryan Murphy has established himself as one of the most successful and prolific producers of his generation. We expect "AHS: Freak Show" and the next incarnation of AHS to further this legacy," he added.
Executive Ryan Murphy gives a treat to American Horror Story fans this Halloween. According to the International Business Times, it comes in two episodes, entitled Edward Mordrake Part 1 (for episode 3) and Edward Mordrake Part 2 (for episode 4). Mordrake is a two-faced man who is linked with the 19th century. "Well in American Horror story what we do is tackle horror myths and Edward Mordrake is an amazing myth. There are some people who say its real and there are photos online that purport to be autopsy photos and there are other people who say it's not. It's exploring the story of the Victorian era madman who reportedly was born with another face on the back of his head that would whisper and force the good part of him to do horrible, evil things. There was a period based on our research that involved a freak show so that's part of the myth," Murphy said.
Murphy will also be creating another comedy-horror anthology for FOX Network, according to IGN. The show is entitled "Screen Queens," which centers on a college campus that is shaken by a chain of murders. Meanwhile, it is revealed in Perizhilton that Freak Show's Finn Wittrock, who playes the roles of Dandy Mott, tied the knot with his fiancée Sarah Roberts. To see the photo post, access it here.
