Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor Gameplay, What We Know about the "Nemesis System", Make Your Talion, Know it and Know Your Enemy
Developed by Monolith Productions, the Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor video game was released for Windows users on September 30, together with the release of the game for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers. The game will be available for consoles PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this November 18.
The story of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor takes place between the events of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. It's an action-packed role-playing game, and its story takes place in the Lord of the Rings' setting.
As for the gameplay, others say it's a lot like playing Batman or Assassins Creed. The fighting mechanics will remind you of the Batman game series. You take the role of Talion, a ranger in an open world, revived by wraith for a revenge mission. Talion is free to pursue side quests and roam around as part of the whole adventure. Simply put, it's going to be a stealth game.
You can personalize and customize your Talion and create your own characters. Talion will go on a journey through the "Nemesis System", which records your interactions with certain types of characters, and these characters, in turn, will adjust to you as you go on with your Middle-earth journey as Talion.
One of the characters you encounter and interact with in the game can be your enemy, like the high and low ranking Uruks that are powerful Orks. If you kill one fo them, you get rewards, but if you don't, and gets killed instead, the enemy will be harder to kill next time. This is how the "Nemesis System" works. So, you really have to be crafty when tracking your target; check your enemies' weaknesses through the menu, plan your moves accordingly, and use your wraith powers to gain Intel.
