Joey Feek's First Song to be Released Since Her Death

On September 23, Joey Feek's first song will be released since her death in March this year. "I Feel Sorry for Them" is a duet between Joey + Rory with good friend Bradley Walker. The song will be released on Walker's new Christian album "Call Me Old Fashioned" which will be released on Gaither Music.
"I Feel Sorry for Them" was written by Walker, Rory Feek and Tim Johnson. Johnson, who had penned hits for Diamond Rio ("God Only Cries"), Daryle Singletary ("I Let Her Lie"), and Tim Rushlow's ("She Misses Him"), has himself died of complications related to cancer in October of 2012.
"I Feel Sorry for Them" will be Joey's first release after her death to cancer in March. And to many of her fans, this newly released track will be particularly meaningful. Prior to Joey's death, Joey + Rory released their final album Hymns that are Important to Us, where the couple gave their acoustic renditions to the hymns they loved. The album has been a #1 album on both Billboard's country as well as Christian albums chart and it's also one of the best selling Christian and country albums released this year.
Bradley Walker, a good friend of the Feeks, has muscular dystrophy and is confined to a wheelchair. But Walker's disability has never discouraged him or prohibited him from pursuing his dreams of being an artist. He has sung at the Grand Ole Opry and rubbed elbows with some of country music's elite, including Brad Paisley, Vince Gill and Ricky Skaggs, among others. Walker has pursued his singing with a passion while juggling a full-time job; however, singing at Feek's funeral was the performance that changed the trajectory of his career.
Prior to Joey's death earlier this year, she specifically requested that Bradley Walker sing at her funeral. When Bradley sang his song "Leave It There," he impressed Bill Gaither so much that veteran vocalist offered to cut an album for Walker on his imprint, Gaither Music.
"When Bradley sang "Leave It There" at Joey's service that day, there were a lot of friends at her graveside. One of those was Bill Gaither," Rory Feek recounts. "And somewhere in the service I'm told ... while Bradley's deep baritone voice was singing my bride to heaven ... Bill leaned over and asked someone, 'Who's that?'"
Gaither is one of gospel music's most influential singers and songwriters, and the founder of the Gaither Music Company, the label that released Joey + Rory's last two albums, including their final project, Hymns That Are Important to Us. He and his wife Gloria are longtime friends of the Feeks, and visited Joey Feek several times during her illness.
