'The Maze Runner' Movie Release Date 2014, Second Trailer Unveiled Starring Dylan O'Brien, Kaya Scodelario & Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Watch Here (VIDEO)
The highly anticipated new movie The Maze Runner premiered an awesome second trailer at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con panel over the weekend (which you can watch above). It looks like they are hoping to make the movie even more action packed than the novel.
The film is the directorial debut of Wes Ball, who is adapting James Dashner's best-selling young adult sci-fi novel. The Maze Runner stars Dylan O'Brien (Teen Wolf), Kaya Scodelario (Skins, Southcliffe) and Thomas Brodie-Sangster.
Leading up to the trailer's release, Yahoo! Movies released 11 new promotional posters over the course of 24 hours. You can take a look at those posters here.
Plot: When Thomas (O'Brien) wakes up trapped in a massive maze with a group of other boys, he has no memory of the outside world other than strange dreams about a mysterious organization known as W.C.K.D. Only by piecing together fragments of his past with clues he discovers in the maze can Thomas hope to uncover his true purpose and a way to escape. Based on the best-selling novel by James Dashner.
Ball confirmed at Comic-Con that development is underway on a film adaptation of the second Maze Runner novel, The Scorch Trials, in anticipation of the first movie performing well enough at the box office to continue the franchise.
Filming for the movie took place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana staring May 13, 2013 and officially ending on July 12, 2013.
The Maze Runner is set to open to theaters in U.S. on September 19th, 2014.
