MercyMe Collaborates with Country Music Superstar Walker Hayes on a New Version of "Oh Death"

MercyMe has collaborated with country music superstar Walker Hayes on a new version of "Oh Death." The song was co-written by MercyMe's lead vocalist Bart Millard, country artist Walker Hayes, Ethan Hulse, and producer Tedd Tjornhom.
The track presents a bold and uplifting message, confronting death with the assurance of Christ's victory over the grave. Musically, it blends elements of contemporary Christian rock and worship, featuring energetic instrumentation and powerful vocals. You can listen to "Oh Death" on various platforms, including Apple Music and Amazon Music.
The inspiration for "Oh Death" came when Walker Hayes sent Bart Millard the initial idea for the song. Shortly after, Millard's father-in-law passed away, which added a deeper personal significance to the lyrics. Millard witnessed his father-in-law's peaceful transition into eternity, reinforcing the song's message of hope and faith in the face of death.
Previously, Walker Hayes and MercyMe have collaborated on the song "Craig," featured on Hayes' 2022 album Country Stuff the Album. This reimagined version of Hayes' 2018 track includes guest vocals from MercyMe, blending country and contemporary Christian music.
"Craig" narrates Hayes' personal experience with a man named Craig, who offered him kindness and support during a challenging period. The song emphasizes themes of grace, humility, and the impact of selfless acts.
You can listen to "Craig (feat. MercyMe)" on various platforms, including YouTube and YouTube Music.
