'Married At First Sight' Latest Update: Doug Hehner Excited About Life After 'Married At First Sight'
Doug Hehner was one of the participants in the FYI show "Married at First Sight". He met her partner Jamie Otis, a few minutes before they got married.
"Married at First Sight" is an FYI reality show that focuses on three couples who get married moments after seeing each other for the first time. The show also has four experts on board to help and guide the contestants with their married life.
During an interview conducted last September 18, the couple said that the show was a "social experiment" that fortunately resulted in a happy ending for them, New Transcript reports.
"You never really can tell how to act and reflect on what we went through, but I think, through watching the series, it is pretty neat to go back, watch all that we have been through and see how far we have come," Hehner said.
Doug Hehner is 31 years of age while Jaime Otis is 27. Hehner is currently in Howell High School's Hall of Fame for Achievement in Athletics while Otis is a New York nurse.
In the last episode of "Married at First Sight," the three couples were given a choice. They could stay married or file for divorce. Hehner and Otis opted to stay married.
Reminiscing on his "Married at First Sight" experience, Hehner said, "It is pretty neat to go back, and watch all that we have been through and see how far we have come."
Otis also shared her thoughts about her husband and the show. She said, "I think the biggest thing that I learned from Doug is that I tend to always be so serious, and he showed me it is OK to let your guard down and have fun with life. In the past, I always have a checklist of what I needed to do."
The couple also shared some tips that they have learned in the course of their stint at the "Married at First Sight" show. Otis credits their open mindedness which contributed to their success in the show's social experiment.
