The Bridge Season 2 Recap: Serial Killer that has been a Menace to the Texas -Chihuahua Border, Corruption with the Mexican Authorities and the Violence with Drug Lords
The Bridge Season 2 premiered with a great episode, but did it end with a great one too?
Now that the season is over, season reviews have been sprouting left and right, saying their likes and dislikes for the season. It follows the two police detectives' lives as they investigate a serial killer that has been a menace to the Texas -Chihuahua border, all the while, a series of corruption with the Mexican authorities and the violence with drug lords complicate their search for answers.
The title of the series gets its name from the Bridge of the Americas, the border crossing between Texas and Chihuahua, the setting of the series.
The Bridge received mixed reviews from critics, but received a generally favorable rating. Rotten Tomato reviewers called it a "seductive crime drama," exposing and showing viewers a socially conscious theme that combines mystery and drama, effectively drawing its viewers in.
Its 2nd season finale has been a bit familiar due to its use of locations that it has gone to before, with a few one deemed as irrelevant. Its predictability also made it all the more dragging, especially as it used common themes that are found in other shows.
What's good about it is it did not leave its viewers with a lack of action, as Mexican cop Marco Ruiz saved the daughter of businessman Sebastian Cerisola from his former partner, Fausto Galvan. It ends in a good manner as Galvan is taken to police custody, effectively closing the case. There are many other things that happened in the series that made it interesting, that viewers latched onto their seats to watch the final scenes of the season.
It hasn't been confirmed yet whether The Bridge is set to return for a third season, as the finale ends with a closure to the dilemmas set forth in the show. However, it could have ended better. Most viewers probably have the same sentiments, but the writers have their reasons for ending it that way, so better leave it as it is. But then, it might be better for the team to produce another season, as to not disappoint the viewers.
